Eternal

Eternal is inspired by the color palette of League of Legends character Kindred.

KAT profile.

My inspiration for Eternal was sparked when my sister was playing around with colors for a Kindred themed Alpha Keycaps Keypora artisan. I loved the colors so much, and really enjoyed Kindred's aesthetics despite being absolute trash at playing them. I drew inspiration from Lamb and Wolf's haunting exchange and the ethereal dark purples and teals that make up their color palette.

Keyreative, who created the KAT profile, was being talked about again after another round of KAT Alphas were available to purchase. After getting in on some extras and trying out the set, I fell absolutely in love with the profile. I'll save an in depth comparison of working with different keycap manufacturers in my keyset design process post, but I am so grateful to Keyreative for being up for the challenge of color matching a ridiculously annoying gradient.

The biggest challenge of color matching with this set was working within the Pantone color system to get a nice gradient of colors, as well as ensuring that the samples provided by Keyreative are matching. Based on my experience with my colormatching as well as what I noticed and heard from others, Keyreative's colors skew towards the oversaturated and overly blue side. Thankfully, zFrontier and Keyreative worked diligently and closely with me to ensure that the vision I had for the set is met.

I'm very happy with my experience working with Keyreative and I hope to make more sets with them! For now, I wait with bated breath for Eternal to ship in June of 2020.
